A bit about me

Graphic designer with a Masters on Games design with a wide range of game design and commercial skills. Proven leadership skills; including managing, supervising and motivating other staff to achieve objectives. An effective communicator at all levels within an organization.

As a graphic designer, I learned to deliver information to the user using easy and clean graphical interfaces, illustration and diagrams. With passion for gaming matched with a deep commercial understanding of the business model of games. Suited to a role within a dynamic and fast paced environment, where creative, commercial and analytical skills can be used together to deliver results in a variety of areas.

    Internship in Challenge Advisory (London Office) @ Graphic Designer

    In challenge advisory I did an internship on web design and SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for the company. This include new designs for the company logo and how to project the company core ideas through a better web layout.

  • 2012-2015

    MA, Games design and Development @ Masters Course to Improve my Skills

    I have knowledge of software development life cycle and database design, with experience on C#. During the two years game-development MA in the NFTS I leaded and developed medium-scale projects related to game development and programming.

  • 2009-2011

    He Was Rigth @ Mark and Logo design - Lead Developer

    This was a full brand design for the music company HWR. For this project I designed the Logo of the company and provide to my client a complete brand guide book with applications guidelines, alternatives to the logo for different surfaces and packages.

    Welfare department - Autonoma University (Cali- Colombia) @ Lead Developer

    Lead designer for the welfare department of the university, in charge of all printed media and digital communications.

Working on a Web page Mock up


Recently I was working on a web page design for an UK company. For this task I got a easy to follow brief:

"Using the attached PowerPoint (Namehere) as source content, construct screen mockups as to how a section of a responsive e-learning module might look. I would expect to see up to three InDesign files.

Use your imagination and any external assets you like, we’re not going to publish so feel free to use copyright and/or watermarked material for illustration purposes.  Use the client website for corporate/brand design guidance (http://www.daikin.co.uk/)."

Using the reference they send to me started to work on a easy to follow page that use the same template of the company with my own ideas mix with it.

Heatpump diagram

Inforgraphic design as a work example for a UK company. My task was recreating a diagram that showcase how heatpumps works in a clear and elegant way. For this task I use Adobe illustrator to create a vector graphic diagram that will be easy to scale and use in deferent applications.

In 2012 I worked in a series of Academic posters showcasing the most importand landmarks of the city of Cali. Those had to show with great detail several architectonical features of the city, presenting key elements in a simple way. Images made in Adobe Indesign.

Promotional material and package design: Don Paco



This was a promotional material for the brand "Don Paco" (a Ron company set in Cali, Colombia). For this campaign the mascot of the company was redesign and a new set of publicity materials were made, including a special edition box as the package of the bottle.

HWR (He Was Rigth) is a music company, for they I made a full brand design. This project included the design and rational of the company logo, and providing to my client with logo applications and variants for different surfaces, all this explained in a full brand book.

Unlike movies, the second time is better

I finally finish my MA course. After a year working on the Lost tower I got a final version of the demo. It was a great and hard experience, where I test my limits and force me to think outside the box in order to create something from the scratch. And here you can see the result of this work.

First let me say that eurogamer was a great opportunity to test the first version of the demo. Two months before Eurogamer I build a test level and started to work on the AI for Carol, the companion of the John in the game. That was an important task, make sure that the AI of both Carol, and the monsters worked.

Carol, Monsters and AI


The first version of the AI for carol was a very sophisticated code, the idea was to create a companion that reacted to the environment, following a set of markers that give her the information of how she should react. Carol was planned as a companion that follow the player and help him to see the environment, and also simulate a real behavior.

The main task for carol was to follow the player, keep it close to him. Then if she was close to a marker she should move to the marker and react as the marker tell her to do. So for example, if she was close to a marker that was marked as "look" she was suppose to play the corresponding animation and sound, finally after completing the task she would be back to the player.

Sadly, one month before Eurogame I got the final model for carol with the animations and the AI code don't work as planned, so I made a temporary fix for the presentation, keep it simple.

The result was a hilarious broken companion that all the player realize in 5 seconds that was dump and leave her behind in seconds. When I finish the Eurogamer, was clear that I need it to fix that.

The new version of Carol is not perfect, looks smart but in reality is just a tool. She walks in the environment guiding the player and "speaking" to him, and if the player is in a 12 meters radius the characters speak back to her, simulating a conversation. Is not perfect and I'm working on bring back the smart Carol that I felt in love in my concept.

New environments, same story
In the new version you can see that the idea of the Lost tower is coming to live, now with a proper place to explore the player can look for answers in the dark corners of the dark halls.


These new environment were possible to the team of 3d artist that help me in the months after Eurogamer and I will be always in dept with them for help me.
